Olympic Business Journal Publishers

Staci Matthes and Rebecca Duce started the Olympic Business Journal in July 2003 as a vehicle to provide news, tips, business strategy and entertainment to local businesses and encourage business development, growth and expansion. The Journal publishes matters of public record, economic trends, emergent business issues and offers feature stories on businesses, owners and employees. Every month we do a news focus on different topics - please see our Focus Schedule for more information.

Rebecca is formerly the general manager of the Port Townsend Jefferson County Leader. She worked for the weekly newspaper for nine years in various positions, beginning as production manager, moving to sales manager then general manager. Prior to The Leader, she was the production manager at the Sequim Gazette. Rebecca is a native to the area, growing up in Agnew, attending Sequim schools and receiving a Journalism degree at Western Washington University. She now lives in Port Townsend.

Staci Matthes, co-publisher of The Journal, also has roots with weekly newspapers having started as a news intern at the Port Townsend newspaper, moved to sales coordinator and then promoted to sales management. Staci has been a resident of Jefferson County for 18 years, attending school in Chimacum then focusing on Journalism at Peninsula College. Staci resides in Chimacum.
