Staci Matthes and Rebecca Duce started the Olympic Business Journal in July 2003 as a vehicle to provide news, tips, business strategy and entertainment to local businesses and encourage business development, growth and expansion. The Journal publishes matters of public record, economic trends, emergent business issues and offers feature stories on businesses, owners and employees. Rebecca has a Bachelors degree in Journalism from Western Washington University and has been working in the newspaper industry since graduation. Rebecca is a native to the area, growing up in Agnew and a graduate of Sequim High School. She now lives in Port Townsend.

Staci Matthes, co-publisher of The Journal, also has roots with weekly newspapers having started as a news intern at the Port Townsend newspaper, moved to sales coordinator and then promoted to sales management. Staci has been a resident of Jefferson County for 18 years, attending school in Chimacum then focusing on Journalism at Peninsula College. Staci resides in Chimacum.
